Wiltshire Council is recruiting volunteers to join our Independent School Appeal Panel. The panel considers admission appeals from parents and guardians when a school place has been refused; helping ensure that every case is heard fairly, openly, and with compassion.
Why volunteer?
As a Panel Member, you will:
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and life experiences. You don’t need previous panel experience, just the ability to listen carefully, consider information thoughtfully, and follow due process.
What can you expect?
Time commitment can vary throughout the year, from occasional hours to a few days a week during peak periods (May–July). Appeals are not held during school holidays. The role suits those who are retired, work part-time, or want meaningful voluntary work that fits around other commitments.
