Description

Transport is a vital part of ensuring patients can access the care and support they need. 

As a Minibus Escort Volunteer, you’ll accompany patients on their journeys to and from the hospice for wellbeing services, appointments, or to return home. By offering reassurance, conversation, and practical assistance during travel, you’ll make a real difference to their experience and help Marie Curie deliver compassionate care in a practical and supportive way.


 
Availability: Up to 4 hours on any weekday

Time: Anytime between 9am and 4:30pm

Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Maudsley Street, Bradford BD3 9LE

Criteria: Minimum 18 years of age.

 
What you'll do:
  • Assist with patient mobility to and from our Marie Curie vehicle
  • Help ensure passengers travel safely, including correct use of restraints
  • Provide friendly support and interaction
  • Monitor patients during journeys and report any concerns
  • Ensure equipment and belongings are safely secured
  • Refer any medical, social, or personal concerns expressed by patients to staff
  • Ensure vehicle space and any equipment are clean, safe, and ready for use
