- Hours: 31.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8.45am – 3.15pm with half an hour unpaid lunch plus 1 hour training and team meetings on Mondays and Thursdays (part time requests may be considered)

Riverwalk School are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants who are motivated and friendly, with a passion for improving outcomes and life experiences for our pupils in the school with SLD and PMLD needs. As part of a class-based team you will need to be creative, as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun. Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach. Your role is to facilitate access to learning for SEND pupils across the school.
You will support teaching and learning, working with small groups and one to one as required. This is a challenging role but incredibly rewarding as you will be part of a team that works together to make a real difference to the lives of our children with SEND and complex behavioural needs.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants who:
- have some knowledge about SEND
- are passionate about ensuring the highest quality learning for children with complex needs and severe learning difficulties
- can be a good role model for students and fellow colleagues
- are prepared to use a range of strategies to support a diverse range of complex needs
- can support each pupil to access a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum differentiated to meet individual needs
- can support tasks relating to ‘real life’ experiences
- are passionate about supporting learning characteristics in pupils
- adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines
- maintain confidentiality
- have a desire to participate in school and Trust CPD opportunities
- have an awareness of Safeguarding
- are willing to contribute to the wider school through our curriculum enrichment and extended school offer
- having strong interpersonal skills and innovative techniques is essential.

Qualifications:
- SEND Experience (preferable)
- Grade C/4+ Maths and English
- Good level of computer literacy
