Do you love books, information and have a passion to support people to read for pleasure to improve their wellbeing? Can you demonstrate an understanding of public library services and the vital role they play in enriching and supporting our communities?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, resilient individual to join our team at Marlborough Library working an average of 14 hours per week to help provide a high-quality service for our customers.
As Library Assistant, you will help customers with queries, help them to find books and information and support them with IT. You will take part in children’s activities such as 'rhyme time' and events/activities for adults, stock work, supporting volunteers and partners and other varied tasks. No two days will be the same and you’ll need to be ready to deal with the unexpected!
You must have at least five GCSEs, including English and Maths at grade A-C or equivalent and good use of ICT. Previous library experience is not essential as we will train you in all aspects of library work. Excellent customer service skills or the ability to demonstrate you can provide them is essential.
Work pattern for this role is:
Week 1:
Wednesday: 13:00-17:00
Thursday: 09:00-19:00
Saturday: 09:00-13:00
Week2:
Wednesday: 13:00-17:00
Thursday: 09:00-19:00
